As I conduct delineations I find a large inefficiency that perhaps could be addressed.
I currently take written short hand field notes for data points then upon returning to the office, I fill out the data forms electronically. (EMP data form as I am from PA)
It takes awhile for me, a fledgling wetland scientist, to populate the electronic form. (Side note: Why doesn't EMP region have an auto-populate form like NCNE?)
It makes me wonder if it is better to record the field data direct to an electronic device such as a tablet which might then export that data to a PDF form.
It would seem rather simple to have this app or web interface, but I know nothing of programming. It makes me wonder if something or some other similar solution exists and is in use.
Does anyone know if there is anything for Android, as in Apps, or web tools that would facilitate quickly recording field info electronically on a device?
I know you can edit PDFs using Adobe's android app but that seems to edit the form wherever you click and not specifically in the fillable forms/template that is present when viewed on Windows OS.
What would be helpful is to be able to quickly jump from field to field (on the form) and quickly enter the data. This way field notes can be recorded and saved and then I wouldn't need to return to the office and take the time to complete each data form from handwritten notes.
