Student Chapters
The
Society of Wetland Scientists South Atlantic Chapter is committed to
encouraging the involvement of students and future generations of wetland
scientists. We recently fostered the development of a new, student wetland group
at Duke University. In addition, the "Wetlands Club"
at the University of Floridacontinues to
support a variety of activities to involve students in wetland related events.

Works closely with the Duke
University Wetland Center to help extend understanding and awareness of
wetlands’ ecological functions and values throughout the Triangle.
Host speakers, organize
service work, and improve field skills.
Fun activities with camping
trips and swamp-influenced movie watches.
Recently produced a 2010
Wetlands Calendar with photos of North Carolina wetlands submitted by
students, staff and faculty in the Nicholas School of the Environment.
