A WORKSHOP SPONSORED BY

VIRGINIA ASSOCIATION OF WETLAND PROFESSIONALS

AND

SOCIETY OF WETLAND SCIENTISTS, SOUTH ATLANTIC CHAPTER

 FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 2001

8 A.M. TO 4 P.M.

 NORFOLK, VIRGINIA

This one day workshop featured invited speakers from throughout the east and southeast, who will present information on soil organic matter and its relationship to ecological functions and wetland community development.

The goal of this workshop was to bring wetland research together with applied wetland science to help increase our understanding of how organic amendments affect the development of wetland communities. Particular emphasis was focused on how soil organic matter and organic amendments affect nutrient cycling and availability, and how this in turn affects community development in both natural and created wetlands.
