The South Atlantic Chapter of the Society of Wetland Scientists (SWS) offers student travel awards to support graduate students presenting wetland research at the SWS annual meeting.  The student must be enrolled in a public or private university located within the South Atlantic Chapter’s region and must be a member of SWS.  We will award $1000 to each of two students.  Applicants should follow the instructions from the SWS Call for Abstracts (www.catchments.org.au/submission.htm) to write an abstract that they would like to submit to SWS.  The Chapter’s Awards and Executive Committees will judge the applicants based on the scientific quality and importance of their research as described in the abstract.  Applicants must submit their proposed SWS abstract, by electronic mail, to the Awards Committee Chairperson, Mary Davis (mary_davis@tnc.org), no later than January 31, 2006.  The winning student must be present to receive their award at the Chapter’s business meeting held during the SWS annual meeting.
