SWS ForumGreetings,
I am finishing my Master's in Natural Resource Management at Antioch New England and am looking for some help with my thesis project. I plan on conducting a functional analysis of 2 mitigation wetlands, created in line with Mass replication guidelines. I plan on using an assessment method to evaluate different functions of the wetlands. I'm having problems finding 2 sites with similar characteristics, i.e. hydrology, size, landscape position, etc.
If anyone could offer me some help, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Michael -
I went to ANE for environmental bio. I worked for Vanasse Hangen Brustlin in Watertown MA for a couple of years and did a bunch of small wetland replication sites. While I can't remember any of them off the top of my head, if I were you, I would contact the MA DEP or even better MA town/city conservation commissions.
The DEP oversees all construction permitting that results in wetland replication sites, however the conservation commissions ultimately approve them so they will have their fingers on the pulse of replication sites that are going on in their towns. The DEP also tends to be very slow. The web site for the MA Con Coms is http://www.maccweb.org/. I would pick a few close to where you live and give them a call.
I am sure they would be interested in and very open to getting an assessment of how the wetland replication sites in their town are doing.
Good Luck!
