The Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Society of Wetland Scientists periodically has meetings.  We post the notifications for these meetings here.  We serve the geographical area that contains Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia.

DESCRIPTION
The SWS Mid-Atlantic chapter is hosting a biannual conference on December 7, 2012 to present on wetland issues in the Mid-Atlantic Region, with special presentation sessions honoring the late Dr. Joan Ehrenfeld. Following a full round of presentation sessions beginning at 8AM at nearby Rutgers University, there will be guided field trips to local wetland mitigation sites. Arrive December 6 to join us for the kickoff reception at the Holiday Inn Somerset!

FIELD TRIP OPTIONS:
Abbott Marshlands Tidal Freshwater Wetland
This is the northernmost tidal freshwater wetland on the Delaware River, located about 2 miles south of Trenton. The trip will visit a reference/natural marsh that has been the site of numerous ecological studies dating to the 1970s, and a created marsh, which mitigated for highway construction, where studies have been ongoing since 1995. Wyckoff Wetland Mitigation Bank
This mosaic of freshwater habitats is a 168 acre active wetland mitigation bank located in Monroe, NJ. The site was constructed in 2000 with adaptive management activities conducted at the site through 2010. It is now self-sustaining high quality wetland system.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Registrants may cancel their meeting reservation up to 48 hours in advance (two business days) of the meeting with no penalty. No-shows and late cancellations will be charged the meeting fee. Payment, or a credit card, will be requested at the time of the reservation.
