Canadian wetland photographs available on CD-ROM

A series of excellent color photographs of Canadian wetlands, emphasizing peatland landforms of northern Canada, are available from Compics International Inc. The photographs are drawn from the extensive collection of renowned wetland scientist, Steve Zoltai. Disks entitled "Canadian Wetlands" and "Permafrost peatlands" cost CDN$50 each. A sample photo is shown below; see the web version of the newsletter for more (in color).

I used the disks in a wetland ecology course that I co-taught at Delta Marsh last summer, and they were very useful. They were particularly effective for showing peatland features that we could not show the students, being situated at a prairie lake marsh.
