Greg Noe is a research ecologist with the U.S. Geological Survey in Reston, Virginia. He received his B.S. in biology from Virginia Tech, his Ph.D. in ecology from the Joint Doctoral Program of the University of California, Davis, and San Diego State University, and then conducted postdoctoral research at Florida International University. His research focuses on wetland ecosystem ecology, with an emphasis of the applicability of the science towards wetland restoration. pecific topics include nutrient retention in floodplains, phosphorus cycling and transport in the Everglades, and germination in salt marshes.
Greg’s goal is to increase the value of the chapter as a resource to its members. In particular, he would like to work towards improving the visibility of the chapter, enhancing member participation in Chapter business, and increasing our involvement in the training of new wetland scientists. He actively seek the input of the membership to help prioritize Chapter activities, so please email him at gnoe@usgs.gov with ideas.
