7th Annual SAC Wetland Calendar Contest - 08/22/12

Enter into the ORIGINAL.....7th ANNUAL SWS SAC WETLAND CALENDAR PHOTO CONTEST! The South Atlantic Chapter of the Society of Wetland Scientists is again seeking wetland-related photographs for the 2012 South Atlantic Wetland Calendar. One thing we have learned over the years is your photographs are AMAZING!

All SWS members and future members may submit up to five entries for judging. The contest will run from June through end of September. Twelve (12) photographs will be selected by our Chapter judges and displayed, giving credit to the photographer, in a beautiful, full-color, high quality calendar that will be available for sale through our Chapter website at:

All 12 winners will receive a free calendar!

Invitation for Expert Review - 04/19/12

The IPCC Task Force on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories is now inviting experts to review the first order draft of this new guidance on estimating anthropogenic emissions and removals from wetlands and organic soils. The first order draft of the Wetlands Supplement, the “2013 Supplement to the IPCC Guidelines on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories: Wetlands”, will be open for expert review for 8 weeks starting on 16 April 2012 and will remain open until 11 June 2012.

In order to be thoroughly reviewed, the document needs to be examined by a wide range of inventory compilers and experts in the IPCC Guidelines as well as wetland and soil experts.

Once registered, you will be sent details on how to download the first order draft and how to submit comments

Joint meeting of SWS, Wetpol and Wetlands Biogeochemistry Web Master - 10/10/11

The conference was organized in Prague, Czech Republic, on July 3-8, 2011 and the conference was attended by as many as 482 participants from 47 countries.

NRSI to Open Wyoming Office Stephen Johnson - 08/01/11

Natural Resource Services, Inc. is in the process of opening a new office in Jackson, Wyoming. This will complement the company's offices in Longmont, Colorado, and Albany, Georgia. Mike Rowell, PWS, will head the new office. Steve Johnson, PWS, and Ruth Johnson are co-owners of the company, which has been incorporated since 1994.
