Joint Aquatic Sciences Meeting

The first ever Joint Aquatic Sciences Meeting (JASM) will be held in Portland, Ore., May 18 - 23, 2014 at the Oregon Convention Center. "Bridging Genes to Ecosystems: Aquatic Science at a Time of Rapid Change" is the theme of this joint meeting of four of the leading aquatic scientific societies: Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO), Phycological Society of America (PSA), Society for Freshwater Science (SFS), and Society of Wetland Scientists (SWS). SWS announces new WSP editor

SWS congratulates Ralph Tiner, Regional Wetland Coordinator, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Northeast Region, on his appointment to the position of Wetland Science and Practice Editor. Ralph has been working in wetlands since 1970 and has written over 200 publications including several books. He also served as an associate editor for Wetlands from 2000-2002.

SWS thanks Andy Cole for his many years of service as WSP Editor.

EPA announces request for grant proposals

West Siberian Peatlands and Carbon Cycle: Past and Present

In August 2014 the 4th International field symposium "West Siberian Peatlands and Carbon Cycle: Past and Present" will take place in Novosibirsk, Russia.
