Program Strengths
1)Wetland Creation and Restoration

Special Facilities:
Extensive wetland creation/restoration equipment (4wd tractors, Truax no-till drill, Whitfield tree planter, acorn planter, ATVs and accessories for planting) and all support hardware and software (Trimble Pathfinder GPS and GIS software, EAGL Laser level, Hydrolab water quality monitoring equipment); other environmental studies equipment includes 35 foot water quality research vessel and launch, greenhouse facilities with capacity for 500,000 herbaceous plugs, 160-acre farm/nursery with capacity for 300,000 bare-root trees, 10,000 containerized trees

The Zahniser Institute for Environmental Studies is a co-curricular department of Greenville College. Academic studies are pursued through the Biology Department toward a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology. Emphasis areas include forestry, wetland ecology, wildlife ecology and conservation/sustainable agriculture.
