The Society of Wetland Scientists (SWS) Western Chapter is offering four travel awards of $250 each to graduate student Western Chapter members and two awards of $250 each to undergraduate Western Chapter student members to present their research at the Sacramento meeting.

A) Eligibility: The student must be enrolled in a public or private university located within the Western Chapter’s region and must be a member of SWS. To become a member of SWS, visit the Society's web site at www.sws.org.

B) Selection: The Chapter’s Awards and Executive Committees will judge the applicants based on the scientific quality and importance of their research as described in the abstract.

C) How to Apply:

1. Submit abstract as instructed on the SWS Conference website (http://www.sws.org/sacramento2007/Abstracts/Abstracts_main.htm)
2. Also, submit abstract via email to Pat Frost (pfrost@tcrcd.net)
   This step must not be overlooked as the student will not be eligible to win the award if a copy of the abstract is not sent to the committee chair.
3. Check the appropriate box on the SWS conference registration form when registering for conference.
4. The winning student must be present to receive their award at the Chapter’s business meeting held during the SWS annual meeting.
