Special Contributed Sessions

Twenty-four special contributed sessions were held concurrently, along with the invited Symposia. Thanks to the program committee for organizing the sessions and symposia in such a way (e.g.,  adhering to 20 or 40 minute length presentations) that made it easy to move around from one talk to the next. There were many great presentations in the following topics:

  1. Wetland mitigation/restoration mitigation and habitat banking: non-coastal wetlands;
  2. Invasive species, impacts on wetlands;
  3. Coastal/estuary and tidal wetlands;
  4. Isolated wetlands/Carolina bays;
  5. Hydrologic Dynamics in Wetland and Stream Ecosystems;
  6. Global climate change and wetland responses;
  7. Coastal/estuary and tidal wetlands: Management and Restoration;
  8. Mitigation/restoration: coastal wetlands;
  9. Wetland contaminants and stressors;
  10. Wetland biogeochemistry;
  11. Wetland classification, remote sensing, and delineation;
  12. Technologies in wetland restoration and remediation;
  13. Use of Fauna as Indicators;
  14. Wetland ecosystems modeling, ecological economics, and adaptive management;
  15. Landscape ecology and watershed studies;
  16. Wetland valuation (HGM, Wetland Continuum);
  17. Monitoring and assessment;
  18. Mitigation/restoration: soils and vegetation;
  19. Riverine wetlands;
  20. Wetland planning and conservation;
  21. Vegetation dynamics/succession;
  22. Mitigation/restoration: Policy and Regulation;
  23. Fauna and habitat utilization; and
