International Summer School in East Africa on Sustainability in the FOOD-WATER-ECOSYSTEM Nexus in Sub Saharan Africa

The University of Bonn, Germany, and Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda, call for doctoral and postdoctoral scientists from Sub Saharan Africa or Germany with an interest in interdisciplinary research in the field of the FOOD-WATER-ECOSYSTEM Nexus in Sub Sahara Africa. The Summer School, held March 12 - 18, 2018, at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda, will focus on sustainable wetland ecosystems. Senior scientists and experts will cover topical issues related to water, wetlands, food security and ecosystems. The lectures will be accompanied by presentations from all participants on their specific research, group discussions and field excursions. The Summer School presents a unique opportunity to meet fellow researchers with interdisciplinary background that includes agronomy, socio-economy, hydrology, ecology, biodiversity and ecosystem services.
